The bone pain

I’m not going to lie. the Neupogen shots can cause bone pain. It’s not pleasant. I have percocet to take, and have had a few today. This bone pain isn’t like anything I’ve felt before, except when I had those 10 days of Neupogen shots before. It’s the result of the crowding of the bone marrow. One nurse told me that this is the kind of pain experienced by some leukiemia patients when their white cells are proliferating out of control.

    Happy Birthday Beth!
Albeit with inconvenience and discomfort, you are MOVING FORWARD. Sounds like you were right on target to have your SCT now – that’s a good thing! The bone pain is short lived – Stay the course. You are in our prayers.

You could think of the pain as an indication of lots of cell proliferation – those little fellas are divinding manically to provide a stack of stem cells for collection – here – busy cells are good cells or something!

Oh Beth, so sorry about the pain!
I don’t know what it is like, but I heard about it when my Dad had leukemia.
    Sending you all good wishes.
