CNTO 328 Trial

I’m staying on this for a while longer. It’s not clear if it’s helping, because My IgA isn’t going down. It’s slowly going up, I think. I don’t have yesterday’s results yet. I don’t know if it would be better to do nothing at all, since this drug has had a negative impact on my cholesterol and triglycerides. I have to have an ultrasound of my pancreas next week because one of the enzymes was up. My triglycerides had gotten to a dangerously high level. I started to take the meds for it on Friday night, and my tg had gone from 1300 to 199 in just 3 days. Much better. What I want to do is get on the rev/dex trial at Wake Forest. This would be the only way to get the drug before it’s approved. We don’t know how long that will be, and I don’t want to do anything more aggressive just yet.

I am a pharmacy student and I am studying for my thesis about chimeric monoclonal antibodies in cancer treatment. I just found your blog by chance and this made me cry and be aware of reality. You are doing a great thing for participating in trials. I just want to thank you and hope&pray for your health.

        Dear Jason,

I only knew her through email. You can be proud of your mom for participating in a trial. She paved the way for future treatment for others. I’m so sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences.

Dear Beth: My name is Kathleen Vittoria and I have multiple myeloma. I am currently going to start the cnto328 trial at UNC-Chapel Hill. I have had a stem cell transplant in 2006 but came out of remission in Oct. of 2007. We have tried several other medications but nothing has worked. So we are going to try the cnto328. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Hope you are doing better.
